Philip Chen, M.D.

Dr. Philip Chen grew up in Houston in a Taiwanese immigrant family, where hard work, education, and service were core values from an early age. He went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania, earning a bachelor’s degree in science and engineering. Although his education took him out of state, his deep love for Texas ultimately brought him home.
Dr. Chen returned to Texas to pursue his medical degree at Texas A&M University. He completed his family medicine residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Parkland Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. His training was further enriched by additional experience in surgery and anesthesiology, as well as specialized training through the Andrew Wells' Weight Management Program, reflecting his commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Dr. Chen has been practicing medicine in Plano, Texas for over 25 years. Throughout his career, he has remained dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care while building long-term relationships with his patients and the community he proudly calls home.
